Notable: Gregoire scored The Village School’s first goal in a 2-0 win over Nolan Catholic in the TAPPS Division I Championship game last week. The senior striker also scored a goal in the team’s 3-1 win over Antonian Prep in the semi-finals and finished the season with 25 goals and eight assists. The Vikings earned the third state title in program history and finished with a 16-5-1 record.
What Coach Mansoor Ansari said: “I had the privilege of coaching Eliot at a younger age at a club, and I know how passionate he is about football. He is competitive, confident and constantly trains hard. He is dedicated to success team and shows up at every training ready to learn and improve. He was our most effective player this season with 25 goals and eight assists, including four goals and two hat-tricks, and was a essential member of our team with his performance on and off the pitch.

Isaac Garcia, father, Dickinson
Garcia delivered at home plate to help the Gators earn a pair of Crosby Tournament victories. The senior went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs in a 10-3 win over Dayton. He followed that up by going 2 for 2 with a double, home run and two RBIs in a 5-4 win over New Caney. Dickinson is 5-6-1 so far this season and will start District 24-6A action at 1 p.m. Tuesday at home against Clear Falls.
Jose Miranda, Sr., The Woodlands
Miranda scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over Conroe in District 13-6A action on Friday night. The Woodlands went unbeaten in the league at 9-0 with the win. The Highlanders won the absolute district championship, extending the program’s consecutive crown streak to 18. The Highlanders, who are riding a 12-game winning streak, will end the regular season this week.
Lloyd Jones III, Fr., Hitchcock
Jones scored a team-high 12 points on 6-for-10 shooting in the Bulldogs’ 53-49 loss to San Antonio Cole in the UIL Class 3A State Semifinals. The 6-foot-4 freshman forward also had 14 rebounds and two blocks as Hitchcock rebounded from a deep early deficit. The Bulldogs were making their first state tournament appearance since 2004 and finished the season with a 31-6 overall record.
