“Iran will not rest until the culprits are brought to justice,” he stressed.

General Soleimani and his Iraqi comrade Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, number two of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), were martyred along with their companions in a US drone strike authorized by the then US president, Donald Trump near Baghdad International Airport. January 3, 2020.
The two commanders were highly revered across the Middle East due to their key role in the fight against the Daesh Takfiri terrorist group in the region, particularly in Iraq and Syria.
Five days later, in a military operation codenamed Operation Martyr Soleimani, the IRGC launched a volley of ballistic missiles at the Ain al-Asad air base in Iraq’s western Anbar province and on another air base in Erbil in the Kurdistan region.
Iran said the missile strike was just a “first slap in the face” in its “harsh revenge” process and would not rest under the US military, leaving the Middle East in disgrace.
