LG AI Research, the artificial intelligence research center of South Korean conglomerate LG Group, on Tuesday formed the Expert AI Alliance with 12 partner companies in information technology, finance, education, medical services, manufacturing and communications to expand the industry ecosystem for giant super AI.

The super-giant AI resembles the human brain with the ability to think, learn, judge and act globally and autonomously, without being limited to a specific use, by learning data based on a computing infrastructure to high-capacity computing.

The Expert AI Alliance aims to develop super-giant AI with the capabilities of leading experts, exploring ways to develop differentiated use cases in customer experience and related technologies, said LG AI Research. at the online launch ceremony held on Tuesday.

The founding partners of the alliance are Google, Woori Bank, Shutterstock, Elsevier, EBS, Korea University Medicine, Hanyang University Seoul Hospital, VA Corporation, LG Electronics, LG Chem, LG Uplus and LG CNS.

With this participation, Woori Bank plans to strengthen the expertise of its AI bankers and develop a language model for the financial sector. Google is developing a super giant AI with its computer-level cloud computing technology.

LG Electronics is focusing on developing the technology to create a story of images for children imitating the language of young audiences on its OLED TVs and LG Standbyme Wireless Display.

During the first conference held after the launch ceremony, Kyunghoon Bae, head of LG AI Research, unveiled specific cases that can be realized by the AI ​​super giant “EXAONE”, as well as a chatbot model and a in-depth document understanding technology to analyze both text and visual aids such as calculations, tables and figures on expert documents such as articles.

LG AI Research plans to provide the application programming interface (API) to its partner companies to help develop custom expert AI in the first half of the year. For easier access to super-giant AI, the EXAONE Playground platform will also be operated from the second half of the year.
