Madison Public Library Plans Event to Kick Bookmobile Summer Programs | Lake County
On June 1, Madison Public Library will cut the ribbon on Gus the Book Bus, the library’s bookmobile, to launch new summer services, including an expanded bookmobile schedule, as well as story and game hours. outdoor video.
The event will take place at 6:30 p.m. at Madison Township Park, 6717 Lake Road. The public is invited.
“We’re so excited for the summer,” library director Dee Culbertson said in a press release. “We really want to connect with people in the community and their neighborhoods through fun events and new library materials.
This summer, the bookmobile will stop at Chapeldale Plaza, Dana’s Park, Giant Eagle, Hidden Valley Metropark, Madison Estates, Madison Food Center, Madison Pre-K, Madison Township Park, Rainbow Farms, Sahara, Tuttle Park, Villas of Madison and the Madison Village Classic Car Show and Outdoor Market.

“The Bookmobile is a library complete with materials for all ages,” Culbertson said in the release. “People can get new library cards, renew old ones, return items and even take chocks if they let us know to pack them on board.”
The library won two grants to fund summer bookmobile programs.

And “Game with Gus” offers teens free outdoor video games at several area mobile home parks. A grant made it possible to purchase an outdoor projector and an inflatable screen. No registration is required for the games.
