Moretown Craftsmen Sale returns in person

The Moretown Artisans Sale returns to its usual in-person shopping format on December 11 and 12, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Moretown Elementary School. This year’s event will feature more than 24 artists from the region selling a variety of crafts, but for COVID security reasons there will be new changes.

“There is a lot that people can get at the Moretown Craftsmen Sale – we don’t want COVID to be one of them!” Said Meg Schultz, event coordinator for over 12 years. “We’re cutting back on our hours and avoiding live entertainment and photos with Santa, but we’ll keep things as festive as possible.” Masks will be mandatory for all participants and all vendors have been vaccinated.

Also new this year, Moretown PTO will be the non-profit sales partner and from next year they will take over the ownership and management of this flagship event. “It’s a perfect fit and I can’t wait to see how the Moretown PTO will put its mark on the sale going forward,” said Schultz. “The Moretown Craftsmen Sale (MAS) was my first official event as a professional planner. But it’s been purely a labor of love for me lately and after being shut down last year by COVID, it’s a good time to pass the torch. I know the Moretown PTO will take good care of my baby! ”

Moretown PTO (MPTO) is equally excited about the partnership and the opportunities that the organization of the event will offer in the future. “We are delighted to partner with Meg’s Events this year and look forward to many years to come with this incredible community event,” said Lindsay Staples, Treasurer of MPTO. “In addition to supporting our programming, organizing this event will also give us the platform to encourage the participation of young artists. “

Funds raised from this year’s silent auction and raffle will be used to host the Troy Wonderlee Circus program residence at Moretown Elementary School in May. The program – a favorite among all members of the K-6 school community – inspires the spirit and fosters the talents of all students. Participants learn stunts, hone their skills, and receive individualized encouragement to combine disciplines and build confidence.
