The Ashes | Australia names 15-member squad unchanged for last three tests
Pat Cummins is set to return to lead Asutralia in the Boxing Day Ashes Test, while Hazlewood is also expected to return in the XI.
Australian skipper Pat Cummins and pacer Josh Hazlewood are set to return for Boxing Day’s test against England as the country’s cricket council has named an unchanged 15-member squad for the remainder of the ongoing Ashes series.
Cummins, the world’s number one test launcher, was unavailable for the ongoing second test after being seen as close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19, while Hazlewood was ruled out of the current match with a side strain he suffered in the series opener at Gabba.
Jhye Richardson had replaced Hazlewood while Michael Laser made his debut at the last minute.
Under-fire opener Marcus Harris held onto his spot for the remaining three games alongside everyone else who came in in the second test, while Usman Khawaja could also be asked to open the innings.
The fourth test is scheduled to be played in Sydney from January 5 while the final match is a day and night match in Hobart, starting January 14.
