Internationals Hannah Southwell and Millie Boyle will lead the team in the new season after being confirmed as co-captains of head coach Ronald Griffiths’ first leg squad.
Commonwealth Games rugby 7s gold medalist Jesse Southwell will make his Knights and NRLW debut after being named halfback, where she will line up alongside experienced five-man Kirra Dibb eighths.
In all, 10 members of the starting 17 are vying to make their Knights NRLW debut.
Boyle: co-captain named and first run test
For the Broncos, prop Sophie Holyman, fullback Jamie Chapman and hooker Nita Maynard are on the starting side. Holyman will make his NRLW debut after joining the Broncos from Sevens Rugby and the Queensland Reds.
Jasmin Fogavini and Crystal Tamarua will play the trade.
Tamika Upton vs. Jaime Chapman: Upton brings world-class skill and is considered one of the elite full-backs in women’s football, winning two State of Origin titles with the Queensland Maroons and two NRLW Premierships with the Brisbane Broncos.
Upton has scored seven tries in the NRLW since making his debut in 2019.

On the other side, Chapman runs nearly 100 yards on average and has made six appearances for three tries and 23 tackle busts.
The Knights have already faced the Broncos once in the 2021 season.
The Broncos have a solid record in the competition, including winning four out of five games last season and three top spots since 2018.
Millie Boyle averaged 198 yards run last season en route to the Dally M.
